Cycling
UC San Diego encourages safe cycling and is working to create a more bike-friendly campus for students, faculty and staff.
Programs
- Spin sharing: GPS-equipped e-scooters for convenient campus transportation at discounted rates
- Bicycle tire inflation service through Motorist Assistance Program (MAP)
- Bicycle cages:
- Arbor Parking Structure – secure area for 20 bikes at southwest corner of street entry level; access requires UC San Diego Health – Hillcrest ID badge or UC San Diego One Card.
- Gilman Parking Structure – secure area for 42 bikes on the second floor
- South Parking Structure – secure area for 40 bikes on the second floor
- Bike Barn @ Central Campus Blue Line station
- Torrey Pines Center South parking garage – secure area for 15 bikes on the south end second floor
- To apply for cage access, applicants must:
- Be active faculty, staff or student with UC San Diego One Card
- Login to your Triton Commuter Club account using Single Sign-On or Active Directory.
- Select the Bike Cage Access Request Form located under “My Rewards.”
- Complete the Bike Cage Access Request Form and include your 6-digit One Card control number (located in the bottom right corner)
- Receive confirmation of bike cage availability at requested location(s) or be placed on a waiting list. Processing and activation may take up to three business days. Transportation Services will send an email to confirm activation.
