Summer Mobility Device Storage

If you're planning to leave campus for the summer and can’t take your bike or scooter with you, don’t leave it vulnerable to theft or weather damage. Transportation Services offers free, indoor summer storage with 24/7 access in secure enclosures, designed to keep your personal mobility device safe while you're away.

Whether you're studying abroad, taking summer classes or heading home, our enhanced security enclosures offer convenient locations and security features—including electronic access control and continuous video recording.

Note: Storage is at your own risk. We strongly recommend using a high-quality lock and maintaining insurance for your device.

Summer Storage Availability

Storage is available from June 1 to October 3, 2025.

Devices must be removed by Friday, October 3. Items left beyond this date will be considered abandoned and subject to a $25 lock removal fee and a 90-day impound period, after which they may be recycled.

How to Request Access

To use summer storage, you must:

  1. Be an active UC San Diego student, staff or faculty member with a valid UC San Diego One Card.
  2. Complete the Bike Enclosure Access Request Form
  3. Wait for a confirmation email with access details and available locations. (Please allow up to three business days for processing.)

Summer Check-In Procedure

After locking your bike or scooter in the assigned enclosure, complete the Check-In Survey. You'll be asked to upload a photo and provide basic information about your device. This helps us verify its condition and location during the storage period.
