The Fleet Services lease program is available to all UC San Diego campus and Health System departments. Fleet Services handles all vehicle procurement, registration and management, eliminating the need for departments to budget for major capital vehicle purchases. Most vehicle leases can be ended without penalty if your department needs change.
Lease program benefits include:
All lease rates have been updated for fiscal year 2027. Starting July 1, lease rates will be split into four parts – lease, maintenance plan, administrative fee and insurance.
Moving to a modular rate structure aligns with UC recharge guidelines and enables fair allocation of overhead and compliance costs experienced by the campus. Paralleling the cost structure of personal vehicle leases helps make Fleet Services’ rate structure more legible.

Fleet Service offers vehicles that are compliant with the UCOP sustainability guidelines and California Air Resource Board regulations. All new vehicles will be zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) where possible. Vehicles will be right sized to their intended use. Vehicle make and models are standardized across the fleet to lower operating costs, improve parts availability and ensure the garage team has the right training, tools and software to keep the fleet safe and operational.
