Pedestrian and Micromobility Device Crash Survey
With the increasing popularity of e-scooters, e-bikes and other personal mobility devices, the campus continues to improve shared pathways and dedicated pedestrian and bike lanes to accommodate additional users. However, near misses and crashes continue to occur.
Student Health and Well-Being, UC San Diego Police Department and Transportation Services would like to understand why students and campus affiliates are involved in crashes or sustaining injuries related to micromobility devices, including scooters, bicycles and skateboards.
If you have been involved in a micromobility crash on campus—whether it was minor or more serious—we invite you to participate in this voluntary survey to share your experiences. We will use this information to identify high-risk areas and implement improvements to support student safety and to create a safer environment for all UC San Diego community members who walk, bike or use scooters and skateboards.
