Parking Permits

If you plan to park, under University of California policy you must have a valid parking permit associated with your license plate or choose daily or hourly visitor parking. You can avoid parking by using alternative transportation.

In response to COVID-19, we’re providing additional parking options during summer and fall quarters. View system status for more information.

New employees are eligible for a complimentary parking permit.

Visiting UC faculty and staff who hold permits at their home campuses may be eligible for parking discounts.

Permit Options

Transportation Services offers several parking permit options for students, faculty, staff and visitors. Compare options to select the best permit for your needs. Check parking space availability to find where to park.

New permit offered starting fall quarter 2020: We are introducing the consecutive day permit, which replaces the monthly, quarterly, and annual options because it allows you to decide the exact dates you need a permit — 30 days to 365 days. No more over paying for parking you don't need. Simply choose your start date and end date (anytime more than 30 days from start date) and you will pay the discounted daily rate.

What Permit Fees Fund

Permit revenue is used primarily for development, maintenance and operation of parking facilities. Parking proceeds also support other mobility options that reduce environmental impact  and reduce or distribute parking demand, resulting in lower development, maintenance and operating costs.

Debt payments are exclusively associated with parking facility development and capital maintenance. Over the next several years, Transportation Services is making significant investments in replacement and expansion of parking facilities. To fund these improvements, we anticipate modest annual parking permit rate increases along with a pay station rate increase in July 2021 and every four years thereafter.
